If you’re looking for the best sugar cookie recipe to make and decorate you’ve found it. Look no further, you’ll never find a better recipe. The buck-stops-here! Okay, I’ll stop.
Obviously, this is our favorite sugar cookie recipe to make when we are using cookie cutters. It makes them fluffy, and perfect for decorating. So, let’s get started.
What you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Mix butter and sugars till creamy.
- Add eggs and vanilla, and mix well.
- In a separate bowl combine dry ingredients.
- Add dry ingredients to the mixture. Do not overbeat.
- Place the dough onto plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours. I usually let them chill overnight.
- Once your dough has chilled flour your countertop (flour it well!!) and take the dough out of the fridge.
- With a rolling pin roll out the dough so that the dough is 1/4 of an inch thick.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
- Let them cool and then decorate them!
