We are starting a new summer series and hope you will all join us each Wednesday for a new easy kid craft.
This week we are making fun mini paper fans that you can put right in your pocket -perfect for these hot summer days.
Paper fans are a pretty simple craft, and I have listed all the things you need to create them below.
Things You’ll Need
- Glue Stick
- Popsicle Sticks
- Hair Elastics
- 3 Pieces of 5×8 in Paper
- Crayons to color
- Glue Gun
Instructions
- Let your kids create colorful artwork on each 5×8 piece of paper.
- Once they have completed coloring, fold the artwork like a fan, I folded ours at about 1/2 an inch -see picture below.
- Take the paper you just folded into a fan and fold it in half -as pictured below.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have folded all 3 pieces of paper.
- Glue the pieces of paper together so that when they open up you get a big fan.
- Take your popsicle sticks and hot glue them to the outside ends of the fan. Once you have placed the hot glue on I took an elastic and placed it around the fan so the popsicle sticks could get a good hold. Make sure you are placing your popsicle sticks in the right direction.
- You’re done! Carefully open up the fan and see what you’ve created!
