This weekend we had Hazel’s birthday party and in a short summary she had the time of her life.
Hazel loves being around friends, she loves playing with them, and having fun. Really though, she could be doing something really boring, but still be having fun becasuse she’s with her friends. I love her excitement and joy whenever she sees her friends. It makes me happy to know there are other kids out there that she can have to support her and be good friends with. (Definitely a mom win in the friends department and I hope it stays this way!)
We had Hazel’s party at our neighborhood park, the weather was cold (high of 61) but it wasn’t unbearable. Honestly, it was perfect for me because I was running around the entire time directing the whole thing.
We found the perfect unicorn cake from Sam’s club, they have the most delicious white cake ever, it’s our favorite hidden gem. Hazel and all her friends loved all the colors and unicorn pieces, it was the perfect cake and she said it was “so beautiful!”
For her plates we just got light pink ones from Hobby Lobby and then her napkins and forks were from Target and I’ll link them below.

Can I also just ask… do I ever smile candidly? When I was looking through pictures I noticed that I am not smiling in many of them, haha! Random tidbit I know, but haaha!
BEST GAMES TO PLAYÂ
Corn Hole: Always a family favorite, and kids love any game where you can throw something. It’s also great because it has multiple uses, parties, and fun afternoons with your family.
Pin The Horn on The Unicorn: I purchased this at Hobby Lobby and it was super fun and easy for the kids to play. They really enjoyed comparing where they put their horns. If you buy this just know that the kids can see through the blindfold.
Red Light Green Light: You don’t need anything for this game. It’s simple red light green light, and we had a few kids take turns being “it”.
Painting: This isn’t a game, but we purchased a few horse items at Hobby Lobby to paint and the kids really enjoyed it. It was fun for them to have something to take home with them.
These are the horses we painted, it was an easy set up and an easy clean up. We used simple white plates, poured the paint on them, and used cheap paintbrushes from Walmart. When we were done I just threw away the paintbrushes and put the plates with the horses in an area where they could dry. Super simple and clean. Don’t forget to bring wipes if you’re wanting to help the kids clean their hands after they paint.
Hazel loved her party, and really didn’t want her friends to leave, she was practically Uncle Albert (from Mary Poppins) when everyone was coming over and saying goodbye to her. She is such a tender heart and loves being with her friends and having fun. Just seeing her big smile as they were playing duck-duck-goose, or her smile as she was hitting the piñata, she had the best time ever. Or, as she would say it “it was the best day ever!”
Happy Birthday Party sweet Hazel.
