Are you a morning person or do you like to pull all-nighters?
Before I had kids I was a loud and proud morning person. I boasted about the quiet peaceful mornings I had, where I had time to just enjoy the day while everyone else was asleep. Fast forward six years and I’m quite the opposite, I am very much nocturnal and it seems that’s the time where I get the most work done.
But man I long for the days where I could get up before the sun and just sit and enjoy those peaceful moments. So, I welcomed the idea back into my life and am setting goals to help myself succeed. Hopefully, these tips can help you become a morning person too!
Here are the things that I’m doing to become a morning person:
Go to Sleep Early: By this I mean go to sleep when you are tired. Don’t stay up late to watch a show or play on your phone. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and setting yourself up for success. If you stay up too late, you run the risk of not getting enough sleep or a good nights rest.
Set Out Your Clothes The Night Before: Be prepared and set your clothes out the night before. Getting one more thing off your plate for the morning will help you rest easy about having all the “things” needed for your next day’s outfit.
Have Something to Look Forward to: One of my favorite ways to start the morning is with a good cup of herbal tea from Celestial Teas. It’s a perfect way to begin my morning, light reading and warm 0 calorie tea all to myself. One of my favorite things about Celestial Teas is that they come in so many flavors. Right now some of my favorite flavors areĀ Peppermint, Country Peach Passion, and Honey Vanilla Chamomile. Which one would you pick?
Stop Pressing Snooze: Just get out of the habit of it. Don’t tell yourself you need 5 more minutes, jump out of bed and give yourself a high five because you just woke up early. Pressing snooze will only tell your brain that you need more sleep and won’t get you in the mindset to wake up.
Get Moving: I already mentioned this, but when you’re awake make sure you start moving right away. Don’t stay groggy, get going and get your body moving. Find something that will help you do this. Jump up and brush your teeth right away, wash your face, or grab a glass of water. -I’m a fan of staying hydratedĀ too!
ExerciseĀ in the Morning: If you’re starting a new routine try exercising in the morning. This is bound to boost your energy and give you a little bit of a push when you’re waking up for the day. Plus, exercising gives your endorphins and endorphinsĀ make you happy (thank you, Elle Woods!)
Do you have any other tips on ways to become a morning person? I’d love to hear them.
