Whenever September comes around I get itchy for the cooler weather. I love for the crisp air and the crunchy leaves that fall from the trees. Unfortunately for me we live in the desert, where it doesn’t cool down till after Halloween. But, all I really have to do is travel an hour and a half and I’ve made it to this crisp cooler weather. Prescott Arizona.
It’s always been one of our go-to places. Brand and I went there for our one year anniversary and returned many times since I guess it’s always just been a special place.
Now that we have kids, it’s fun taking them to the places we’ve been and it’s also fun exploring the new parts. Last year we visited Mortimer Farm, the cutest little farm in Dewy. And we went back again this year. This time around, we picked strawberries, went for a hayride, slid down some slides, bounced on a big bouncy pillow, ate, and played some more. It’s such a fun time there with kids, we enjoyed all the fun things they had, and Hazel was excited, anxious, and nervous to do a lot of things. She’s become a little picky, that girl.
We enjoyed the cooler weather, the wonderful breezes, and the cottonwood trees as their leaves blew in the wind. I couldn’t help but think about how much I want one of those big cottonwood trees in my backyard one day. They give the best shade and have the most beautiful trunks and leaves.
The strawberries were the most delicious thing ever, which of course now I’m a strawberry snob. We took home a big bushel of strawberries and I’m not sure they’ll last through the weekend.
Most of the day I carried Hanna around on my new favorite baby carrier. It’s super convenient to have a baby carrier, it lets me use all my hands, is super breathable and doesn’t kill my back. Hazel was a trooper and walked most of the day, I don’t think she realized how much she walked around because she was having too much fun.
After our farm excursion, we got ice cream and headed downtown. Downtown Prescott is one of my favorite places to check out because they always have something going on there.
We enjoyed our evening walking around, seeing all the sights in the little town square. Hazel walked up the courthouse steps and we even checked out a cowboy store where she tried to convince us to buy her some boots. Nice try girly.
We headed home later in the evening, because all traveling adventures end sometime, don’t they?!
Be back soon, Prescott!
Can I also tell you about these wonderfully soft Cariloha bedsheets? They are made of bamboo and are the softest sheets I’ve ever slept on. Check them out here.
