I use to hate mopping my floors. It was one of those things that I would dread doing. Pull out the mop, then all the stuff I use in the cleaning mixture, move the chairs, etc. ect…
But I started noticing that nice smooth feeling as I walked on the tile. And then friends started noticing the lemony fresh smell. It was all in the power of my own Pine-Sol®.
After having Hanna I use to never mop, it was just time-consuming and I couldn’t fit it into my schedule. But I started a routine, and it’s really started working for me. That’s one of the things that works best for me, routine. I find that if I can get myself into a routine of doing one particular thing, then I can make it a habit. So, this is how I turned mopping into a habit.
Not all habits are bad, by the way…
Here are some of the ideas I have for making mopping a part of your weekly routine. You can even use some of these ideas for other things you would like to be routine as well.
I found ten minutes in my week. I set apart a measly ten minutes each week to mop my floors. Sometimes I could even find two days a week where ten minutes were available.
Sometimes mopping before I go to bed is most relaxing. I know, there doesn’t seem like there could be anything relaxing about moping. But come on, picture this: you, a mop, your favorite audiobook or podcast, Pine-Sol®, clean floors, and you thanking yourself tomorrow for a job well done.
I like to use something easy like Pine-Sol®. I enjoy using Pine-Sol® because it kills 99.9% of germs, is safe on other surfaces, and has four times the cleaning action. So, it gets off all the dirt and grime of the day, while also deodorizing.
Making it part of Saturday chores and have everyone help. You don’t have to do it all on your own, Saturday chores exist for a reason and if you’re wanting to delegate mopping to someone else do it. Hazel loves helping me mop -I mean, she mops the same place over and over again, but it’s teaching her hard work, right!?
Mostly I think it’s important to make cleaning fun and enjoyable, and so does Pine-Sol®.
