Being a new mom is hard, but making better-for-you lunches and dinners shouldn’t be. When you have a new baby there are so many new things that you encounter. One of my least favorite things to think about after I had Hanna was what I was making for dinner.
Every evening the age-old question: What’s for dinner? Would ring in my ears. I’d shudder every time I heard it because I was wondering the same thing. Most of the time I would grab the stuff that was not so healthy, but it was quick to make. And each time I would feel bad because I was feeding my daughter a corndog for the third time that week.
And when you’re a nursing mom you’re trying to make sure that what you’re eating is good for you and your baby. Sometimes healthier dinners are more time consuming to create. But with my newfound love of Tyson®, healthier meals aren’t such a far-fetched idea anymore. Let me share with you some of the ways I’ve brought better-for-you protein to my easy to make meals.
Easy Meals For Moms with One Main Ingredient
First, we headed to Sam’s Club and purchased a few of our go-to items that I like to buy each week. A lot of these items are used multiple times throughout the week which makes this healthier lunch less expensive as well.
For these recipes you’ll need:
Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken
Bag of Salad Mix
Tortillas
Cheese -Parmesan and Colby Jack
Spaghetti noodles
Spaghetti sauce
Chicken and Salad: Take your Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken, and a bag of salad mix. Both of these items can be found at Sam’s Club. Cook the chicken as instructed on the bag. Once cooked, add your salad mix to the cooked chicken. Super easy, quick, and so much better-for-you.
Chicken Tacos: Take your Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken, a bag of salad mix, a tortilla, and some cheese. Cook the chicken as instructed on the bag. Place the salad greens on the tortilla, then the chicken, then the cheese, add dressing.
Chicken Spaghetti: Take your Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken, spaghetti noodles, red spaghetti sauce, and parmesan cheese. Cook spaghetti noodles as instructed on the bag. Heat up spaghetti sauce, Cook the chicken as instructed on the bag. Add items together.
Other recipes where you can use Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken include quinoa bowls, pizzas, enchiladas, and omelets.
And if you’re interested in a few other easy better-for-you meals to purchase at Sam’s Club try these: Jimmy Dean Delights® English Muffin and Jimmy Dean Delights® Frittatas. Equally delicious and easy to make.
Eating right and enjoying what you are eating shouldn’t be so difficult. Which is why I love being able to just throw a few pieces of chicken in the microwave -or on the stove- and I have a better-for-you meal in a snap. What kind of meal would you make with your Tyson® Grilled and Ready Chicken?
