When we first brought Hazel home from the hospital it was like we were given a foreign object. We had no idea what we were doing. Okay, we had some idea, it’s not rocket science, but it is tough. One of the things I wished we would have known how to do was properly swaddle a baby. The nurses at the hospital have it all down pat, and it’s practically their job to swaddle babies. I never really figured out the whole swaddle thing with Hazel, which could be why she was such a horrible sleeper. So with Hanna, I knew I wanted to either learn to swaddle better or find an awesome swaddle that did it all for me.
Before your baby is born they are used to sleeping in a small area where they are wrapped up like a pretzel. So, when they are born the swaddle helps them feel safe as if they were still in utero and helps them sleep better. A swaddle also helps keep a baby from startling themselves awake. The startle reflex is killer, especially if you don’t know how to properly swaddle. Your baby could be sleeping one minute and then BOOM they startle themselves awake and now you are back on baby duty.
That’s where The Ollie Swaddle comes in.
The Ollie Swaddle, also known as the Smarter Swaddle, is kind of the end to all swaddles. It’s great because it’s a custom fit swaddle. Which means it grows with your little one and it perfectly meets the needs of each transitional stage your baby goes through. Your baby will mostly likely transition through three different stages with this swaddle: both arms in, one arm out, and both arms out. Each stage takes place as your baby becomes more mobile and starts rolling over, but they are still looking for that tight security.
The Ollie Swaddle is super easy to use. All you do is place your baby in the middle of the swaddle -shoulder blades should be along the wavy bump, and the swaddle should be places below the shoulders. For more information on how to use the swaddle you can visit this link: https://theollieworld.com/pages/how-to-use
The Ollie Swaddle is also nice because it’s made out of custom moisture-wicking material, which means that it helps reduce the risk of your baby overheating. Because we all know that babies are heaters! So, if you’re looking for an awesome transitional swaddle look no further.
The Ollie Swaddle also comes with its own laundry bag so that the velcro pieces don’t snag your other clothes.
How does your baby like to use The Ollie Swaddle?!
I received this item for review, but all words and opinions are my own.

February 21, 2018 at 11:10 amI bought a bunch of different types of “dummy proof” swaddles when I was pregnant with Rory but girlfriend HATED being swaddled and somehow we got lucky b/c she was still an amazing sleeper. I kept all of the swaddles just in case Rhylan likes to be swaddled. You’re right though, those nurses know how to swaddle and make it look so easy- they could probably swaddle a baby with their eyes closed or in their sleep.

February 21, 2018 at 11:02 pmSeems like a good swaddle! I don’t have babies, or even pets, so this is not for me. However, I do know of a couple of friends that are expecting, and these may be good for their children. Hazel seems so peaceful in that swaddle! 🙂

February 22, 2018 at 9:36 amI don’t have kids but I helped my sister out. My niece and nephew didn’t like to be swaddle when they were babies. They were too wiggly.
