Two kids are harder than one. It’s true, there is one more person to worry about and one more person to keep happy. All of this can make trips to the grocery store -or any store- a pain in the rear. I mean, grocery shopping is not an option, someone has to do it. So I thought I would share with you some of the success stories we have had grocery shopping with two.
Compile a List Beforehand: Don’t go to the grocery store without knowing what you are getting. Compile a list, and have the list organized by aisle. Sounds silly, but it’s worth it. You won’t be scrambling and wondering back and forth in the store.
The Oldest is in Charge of the List: Have your oldest help you with your grocery list and look for the items you are in need of. Hazel can’t read yet, so I mostly tell her what we need and she helps me look for it.
Put the Baby in the Hammock: The Binxy Baby Hammock has been so great for us when grocery shopping. I can load up my shopping cart and not have to worry about Hanna’s car seat taking up all the room. The Binxy Baby Hammock can hold up to 50 pounds which means it can also hold a car seat. *More about the Binxy Baby Hammock toward the bottom of the post.
Bring Snacks: Toddlers get hungry and often want to eat the things you’re putting in your basket. Bring snacks for them. Our grocery store provides kids with a free apple, banana, or orange. Such a wonderful idea!
Shop When it’s Good for Everyone: If you know your toddler has a hard time holding still in the afternoon stay clear of the grocery store at that time. You want to make sure you set yourself up for success. Mornings seem to work best for us after Hazel has played a little bit and just after baby number 2’s nap.
Don’t Stress: Grocery shopping doesn’t have to be rocket science, and you don’t have to be perfect at it. Just do your best, go in with a positive attitude, and make sure to prepare your toddler for what’s about to happen.
Why We Enjoy the Binxy Baby Hammock
When we first used the Binxy Baby Hammock for Hanna I was pleasantly surprised. I love that it sits on an incline, Hanna has reflux so if she isn’t reclined she gags and starts choking. I also really like the material the Binxy Baby Hammock is made out of, its two layers of upholstery weight fabric are soft and comfortingly strong. One of the things that Hazel loves about the Binxy Baby Hammock is that she gets to turn around and hold Hanna’s hand during most of the shopping trip. It’s the sweetest thing to watch.
The Binxy Baby Hammock can be used from birth to 6-8 months -or whenever your baby starts to sit up on their own. It’s safety tested and has secure seat harnesses that attach to the shopping cart, along with a velcro strap ensuring the seat stays in place. Head here for more information about the Binxy Baby Hammock features and how it works. This is the link to the print that we have.
We really like our Binxy Baby Hammock and would recommend getting one for your new bundle of joy.
I received this product for review, but all words and opinions are my own.

February 1, 2018 at 1:22 pmGrocery shopping with 2… and 2 under 2 at that has definitely got me nervous. My husband and I always do the shopping together, so that will definitely help but still. And I can’t have Rory hold the list b/c she loves to rip paper. We usually try snacks or give her things in the cart that are fun to shake like rice or pasta (unless it is in a cardboard box and she starts chewing on the box-ugh). She is also at the stage where she likes to climb out of the grocery cart- girlfriend will find a way even if she is buckled in. The baby hammock looks like such a great idea. I just can’t bring myself to spend that much money on it knowing baby #2 is my last child. I wish they had it out when I was pregnant with Rory.

February 2, 2018 at 8:07 pmMy youngest is 6 so I have never seen this type of cart hammock. I do remember the challenge of shopping when one kid could sit in the cart, but the other kid was in a bucket seat. I think I used my bjorn for the baby.
