This pregnancy has been so much harder on me than my first. But, I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that my postpartum will be that much easier because of it. But, I’m not getting my hopes up though.
I thought I would share with you my coping skills for dealing with pregnancy hurdles. I know we’ve all dealt with them, some more than others, but I also know that there are good ways we can tackle them.
**These tips don’t just have to be for pregnant women, they are great ideas on how to take care of yourself while going through stress too.
How to Deal with Pregnancy Hurdles
Get Out of The House – Take your kids with you and get out of the house. Let them run around at the park or in the grassy field. The fresh air is so good for your body and will help you just take a minute to relax and breathe.
Turn off Your Phone – Disconnect from all your social media, text messages, and what not. Don’t let it distract you from what you need to do for yourself.
Do Some Stretching – Turn on some music, heck have your kids join you for this one and stretch your muscles. You don’t need to be super flexible for this, it’s just a little stretch to help you calm down and rejuvenate your body. Get your blood flowing.
Drink Water – There is a great app out there that helps you keep track of your water intake and it’s interesting to see how little water I sometimes drink. Your body needs to stay hydrated, for you and your baby, it’s important to stay on top of this.
Take Time for You – I wrote a post a few months back about Taking Care of Yourself as a Mom and it has really been a helpful tool for me.
I hope all you ladies and all my pregnant friends are doing well. Remember to take care of yourself and keep your mind and body happy. You can’t take care of others unless you take care of yourself first.
