Hazel and I recently, accidentally started this new tradition. After lunch we grab a big stack of books and lug them to the front room. We turn on the Christmas tree lights, drape our Christmas blanket over our legs, and start to read. It’s a fun little tradition we’ve started, and I love that Hazel loves it. She has to have the blanket tucked in just right and we have to always bring the train book–it’s her favorite.
Today we started a new tradition as well. Sparkle, our Elf, wrapped 12 Christmas books for us to read every night until Christmas is over. Hazel gets to open one book a day-present wise-and we read that book as soon as she unwraps it. Thank you Sparkle!! Was her sweet response this morning after we read the book, she’s become very polite on certain occasions. Here is a list of some of the books we will be opening and reading this year.
Room for a Little One: A Christmas Tale
The Night Before Christmas (Little Golden Book)
Christmas in the Manger
Who is Coming to Our House?
The Christmas Baby (Classic Board Books)
J Is for Jesus: The Sweetest Story Ever Told
Polar Express 30th anniversary edition
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (Classic Seuss)
The Twelve Days of Christmas
The Nativity Story (Candle Bible for Kids)
Auntie Claus deluxe edition
