Last week we had an afternoon of very cool weather. The kind where I could absolutely not stand to stay inside for. I loaded Hazel up in her stroller and headed to the green belt where we sat under a nice tall shade tree. My girl is an outside girl. She loves it all: the grass, the trees, the birds, the breeze-loves. I love watching her look around at all of it, soaking it all in. She’s such a curious little girl.
We sat and played for a bit, then I laid her down on the blanket and watched her eyes wonder. As she looked up at the tall shade tree her eyes got big, and then she smiled. I couldn’t help but wonder what she was thinking. I asked her if they had trees like that one in heaven and she just gave me a little smile. I told her that we would tell daddy we want these kinds of trees in our backyard. I think she liked that. She laid there for a bit as I jabbered on about whatever, I was probably saying Hazel, say “ma-ma”! She always gets a kick out of that one. Oh how I am so grateful for this little bundle of mine.
We were there for quite a while because I just couldn’t imagine a better June day in Arizona. It was practically heaven and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The perfect amount of shade and the perfect little breeze. Arizona has really been shocking me lately and boy am I grateful.
Oh, we also had a thunderstorm the other night… that was loud and scary for me. I’m not a fan of thunder when I’m home alone, it just brings back all those scary movies where loud thunder is involved.
