It’s also more like let me share with you the pictures that I keep forgetting to. So My mom saved a few handfuls of poofy, ruffley, dresses that I wore when I was little. She brought them over a few weeks ago and I can’t describe to you how excited I am for this little girl to wear them! Maybe it’s because they were mine when I was little, or maybe it’s because I love these old fashion clothes, but I’m so excited to see her in these. I think one of the funnest things about having this little girl is going to be dressing her.
Last weekend my sils and I took some “belly” pictures. We are all having girls and they are all going to be so close in age. I cannot tell you how exciting it’s going to be to show them this picture when they get bigger, And I’m thinking they are going to be the best of friends, how fun are these birthday parties going to be and the play dates we’ll have. Oh, I’m going to love this.
This weekend Brand and I went on a date, first one in a long time, well, a date where we went out for dinner that is. I guess that’s just how things work when you start dental school and find yourself up to your head in debt. It was so nice just being with Brand, not worrying about his tests and just us talking. Talking about our baby girl, why parents let their kids play with their phones at the dinner table, and a little bit of Russian -I’ve started forgetting the things I learned on our trip so Brand was helping refresh my memory. After dinner we went to the mall to check out the baby clearance sections -no shame here, why are little outfits the same price as big people outfits?
We also did some little girl laundry, oh how fun it was to see these little clothes on our couch, to hang them up and talk about how cute she would be in this outfit, and how the “daddy’s Valentine” outfit might be my favorite. I can’t wait to see Brand hold this little girl, I’m sure I’ll fall in love all over again and again. -Something fun, as I type this she’s punching, and kicking, and moving all around, maybe she’s saying she’s going to love that daddy to bits.
Annnnd this weekend was the first time I had tums, not because of heartburn. I had this nasty stomach ache that wouldn’t go away, just when you think the food that you are eating isn’t greasy your stomach says the opposite. I’ve never been so grateful for a medicine in my whole life, and if I had known before how fast tums worked I would have never used pepto. Seriously, in seconds.
And last week I made these beauties. Do you remember wearing these kinds of socks when you were little? Crochet beaded socks?! I swear I wore them all the time and when my mom told me I had grown out of my last pair I was absolutely devastated. The way they jingled when I walked, how fancy they were, the different colors they came in. Is it weird to make an adult pair? -I’ll answer that, it’s weird.
Happy Monday!

September 15, 2014 at 5:42 pmCongratulations on the upcoming birth of your little girl! I have a five year old boy and a three year old daughter and I have to say that I do miss early days for sure right after the baby is born. Now…well, I'm not spoiling it for you, but let's just say that having picky eating kids makes for a whole new type of blog posts. Cute socks by the way.

September 16, 2014 at 4:33 amTums and I got real close when I was pregnant. They're little miracle workers! And as for phones at the dinner table, sometimes you've heard your kid scream/talk/shriek for so long you'll do anything to make them be quiet 😉

September 17, 2014 at 5:02 amI lived on Tums both times I was pregnant! Mainly it was for acid reflux. My doctor said the calcium was probably good for the baby so it was a double benefit!
