When I first got this Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Build-in Whitening Pen voxbox I was excited because I have really been wanting to whiten my teeth. I used to use those white strips in high school and I remember looking so funny when I had them on. I couldn’t hardly talk and somehow all the saliva from my mouth attached its self to the strips, not a pleasant experience.
So, when I read the instructions on how to use this whitening pen I was a little confused at first. It’s advertised as a toothbrush with a built in whitening pen, so I automatically thought that you put the whitening gel in the toothbrush and it comes out through the toothbrush. Not the case. First you brush your teeth, then you whiten with the pen, and then you can put the whitening pen inside the toothbrush. It’s a storage place.
The whitening pen worked really good, and I was able to see results after the first two times I used the pen. The only thing I didn’t like about the whitening pen was that it was sometimes difficult to apply to my teeth, the rubbery bristles of the pen made it so that the whitening gel would adhere to it instead of my teeth. It was nice to not have to worry about having to take off white strips and I could just go about my business, I didn’t even have to brush it off.
One tip for you new users out there make sure your teeth aren’t super wet and that they don’t have a lot of saliva on them so that the gel doesn’t clump up.
I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.
