I hate to admit it, but it’s the truth, I’ve been cursed with a pear shaped body. And it really is a curse because when I wear jeans I don’t look like this, I look like this. Okay, maybe not literally but I sure do feel like it sometimes. Having a pear shaped body has got me thinking about different ways I can wear my clothes to draw the eye awaaaaaay from the pear bottom. This past weekend I got on a google-ing rampage where I googled different flattering clothing options for this here pear shaped body of mine. I didn’t find much for pictures –which was a bummer because I’m a sucker for pictures, but I found lots ideas that put visuals into my head.
Just because you are pear shaped doesn’t mean you can’t wear the world-famous maxi skirt.
Obviously this outfit isn’t one of the most ideal choices to “hide” my pear shaped body, but it does work pretty well. Let me tell you why. It’s a longer flow-y dress, and it’s not completely hugging my hips or thighs. Also, your attention should be directed toward my face because I’ve paired the maxi with a shrug/cardi, long gold earrings, a necklace and I’ve left my hair down. I’ve also paired the outfit with a heel, which gives me a bit of height and somewhat stretches out my pear shaped body.
What kind of body shape do you have?

August 8, 2013 at 8:19 pmGoodness, girl, I'm pear shaped too and it can be so hard to dress in a way that doesn't make me look bottom heavy. Your outfit makes you look great!!! (Not that you don't look great anyway!) 😉

I am so pear shaped it isn't even funny. Think Kim K.
I am so glad that I am not the only one comparing my butt to Syds.
