The rest of the day was spent swimming, eating dinner and watching fireworks. I swear, we swam for about 2 hours, and it was the realizing swim that you don’t realize how much time has passed by until you look at the clock and think, wow… that’s why I’m hungry!
And after you’ve cleaned up and are finally out to eat dinner you find out that the chef has burnt your appetizer so you have to wait for a new batch of buffalo wings to be made. Which takes about 10 minutes and when you’re hungry waiting 10 minutes is like waiting for the mail man to come as you await the arrival of your new favorite shirt…. or something else you’re really looking forward to getting. All the while your appetizer is being re-fired your main course is almost done being cooked and will arrive at your table less than 5 minutes after you receive your appetizer. Isn’t that the pits? During our wait we made up a fun game, it is a game best played with a paper football, but all we had was a straw wrapper so we had to improvise. And I won, of course.
Later the Declaration of Independence was read and fireworks were set off. And at the end of the day the only thing I had to deal with were a pair of bruised knees. Pretty good day if you ask me!
