This weekend I tried herbal tea for the first time. I was really excited about it and was ready to drink something besides water. But, it turns out that my pallet isn’t ready for this thing you call tea. I took a sip for the first time, hoping it would taste like something out of a book; overflowing with deliciousness and flavors that you wouldn’t imagine. Well, one this is for sure I never imagined that I would taste the flavors I did, it seriously tasted like garbage. It was sort of vile and was like a weird sappy tree got mixed with some wanna be flower and then ground up, honestly I don’t think I can really describe it. But trust me, it was nasty. I’m not sure if this is my end-all herbal tea experience, I’m still hoping there is something out there that does taste like something out of a book. Or am I wishfully thinking?
Also on my activity agenda for this past weekend I was making star bunting and finishing up some baby blankets. I found this glorious pattern for crochet star bunting and I’ve been creating pieces like a fiend. One day, I’m pretty sure, my entire apartment will be filled with things made of yarn. I’m kind of a crazy person when it comes to crochet, but this isn’t Crocheters Anonymous so I’ll skip the deets. I didn’t, however, make that flower doily in the picture so there.
& so if you have any good herbal tea ideas I’d love your input. And also please send me some creative energy, all my ideas have flown out the window with the summer heat and evaporated into thin air. I’m pretty hopeless.
Happy Wednesday!

July 5, 2013 at 6:23 pmI have tried to like tea so many times, but seems that my taste buds aren't a fan either. Don't worry you're not the only one!

July 6, 2013 at 9:02 amHow did you make it this far without ever trying herbal tea?! haha you might want to start with some cream and sweetener. That's how I drank it as a kid so that it wasn't as bitter and slowly weaned myself off. 😉

August 1, 2013 at 5:47 amwhat flavor of herbal tea did you try? I've tried peppermint(because of stomach issues) and only let it seep for about 45 seconds because it's strong lol. I did add some stevia to it because i like it sweet. not too bad, got used to it. I also really like celestial seasonings sleepy time tea (caffeine free) with a bit of honey..that it way yum and it doesnt make me sleepy either lol. I only drink this when i dont feel well.
