There are many feelings and thoughts running though my head right now, but these feelings and thoughts are not negative they are of peace and gratitude. I feel peace to know that Heavenly Father is watching over us and is guiding our nation at His will. I feel gratitude to know that our nation is a free nation, that our founding fathers were inspired to create such an amazing land for us to enjoy. I am grateful to know that His church will continue to run throughout nations, people will be taught, baptized, and sealed to their families for eternity. I am grateful for the words of Prophets who have spoken of our time and the challenges we may have. I am grateful to know that when we keep our spiritual houses in order we will stand the tests of time and feel the peace of our Heavenly Father. I am grateful to know that one day we will see the face of our Heavenly Father and know that everything we have done, the way we have lived righteously, was done with a purpose. Let us keep our heads held high and remember who we are. Let us be positive and happy to live in such a beautiful nation full of promise and hope.
“Men may fall in this country, earthquakes may come, seas may heave beyond their bounds, there may be great drought, disaster, and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men who God raised up, will never fail. This is the cradle of humanity, where life on this earth began in the Garden of Eden. This is the place of the new Jerusalem. This is the place that the Lord said is favored above all other nations in all the world. this is the place where the Savior will come to His temple. This is the favored land in all the world. Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won’t fail. I have faith in America: you must have faith in America, if we understand the teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are living in a day when we must pay heed to these challenges. I plead with you NOT to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. This is the favored land. This is the land of our forefathers. It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trails or crises it may yet have to pass through.” -President Harold B. Lee

November 9, 2012 at 10:40 amThank you for this!! The candidate I was rooting for ( Ron Paul) got out early so I haven't paid a lot of attention to the race, but I am hoping and praying that people become more politically active and stand against NDAA, drone attacks, and corporate interests affecting US politics this year!
