To read our story: the engagement
It was Friday, November 21, 2008 4:30 a.m.
My alarm went off early because I had to get ready for the big day. I got up off the blow-up mattress, because all my furniture was at my new apartment, threw some clothes on and head out the door. I was headed to get my hair and make-up done. I don’t remember much about that morning, while I was getting my hair and makeup done, but I do remember I was running late.
I call Brando to see if he was ready, at this point his name is still Brando, he picked me up and we headed off to get married. The whole time I’m thinking, this isn’t real, this isn’t real, it must be a dream! As we were on our way to the Mesa Temple we were listening to a country station (107.9 to be exact) and Brando decided to call in and request a song. Love Story by Taylor Swift was a very popular song in ’08 and it seemed right for the moment. The radio show host started talking to Brando to see what he was up to, Brando told him that he was on his way to get married and that I really liked the new Taylor Swift song and wanted to see if he could play it. So, they played the song, dedicated it to us and congratulated us on the radio. It was pretty cool.
The drive from Glendale to Mesa is about an hour drive, this means there is plenty of room to get lost or think you are going in the right direction, when you really are not. Brando thought it would be a good idea to take a different route to the temple. I, on-the-other-hand was quite content in taking the route we had been on before, but I didn’t mind. So we are driving along and I look at the time and think, oh boy we are going to be late to our own wedding!!! I ask Brando how much longer he thinks it will be till we get to the temple. He said wasn’t sure because he thought we were going the right way. Anyways, we got lost but end up making it to the temple on time… well we made it when the guests were arriving… 30 minutes after we were supposed to be there. But that’s okay, I still married him! (:
After we were sealed in the temple we took family pictures, had a luncheon and then a wedding reception.
Next up: our story: the reception decore

November 21, 2012 at 7:13 amSo, I don't know if I am just being a tad naive…but is it normal to drive to the wedding together? 😛
That's really cute about the Taylor Swift song- not your standard call to a radio station by any means!
